Why the rate you are quoted differs from the chart
Market quotes for a currency pair are interbank prices for large electronic transfers. Buying physical banknotes is a different transaction: the notes have to be sourced, held, counted, insured and delivered, and that cost sits in the spread between the market rate and the rate you are offered. It is the same relationship as between a metal's spot price and the price of a coin.
Not a precious metals product
