1 oz Kangaroo Silver Coin — 999.9 fine, mixed years
The silver Kangaroo contains one troy ounce of 999.9 fine silver and carries a face value of 1 Australian dollar. It is struck by The Perth Mint, owned by the State of Western Australia. Diameter 40.60 mm, thickness 4.00 mm.
Unlike most bullion coins, the reverse is redesigned every year. With mixed years, therefore, not only the date but also the design depends on the coin you receive.

A new design every year
The Krugerrand, Maple Leaf and Vienna Philharmonic keep a fixed design. With the Kangaroo, the Perth Mint creates a new reverse for every year, so each issue shows a different depiction of the animal.
This has no effect on the silver: weight, fineness, diameter and thickness are the same in every year. If you are after a particular design or collect the series, choose a coin with a stated year, such as the Kangaroo 2026.
Government guarantee
The Perth Mint operates under the Gold Corporation Act 1987, and the State of Western Australia guarantees by law the weight and fineness of every coin it strikes.
Mixed years — what you receive
Coins are shipped from current stock and the year cannot be selected. The price is lower than for the current year because the premium for a fresh issue does not apply. At resale, the silver price and the condition of the coin matter, not the year it was struck.
VAT — margin scheme
Silver does not benefit from the exemption that Article 122 of the Polish VAT Act gives to gold bullion. Mixed-year Kangaroos are sold under the VAT margin scheme (Article 120): only the dealer margin is taxed and the tax is not itemised on the invoice. The 2026 issue is sold at the standard 23% rate.
Storage
Mixed-year coins have often spent longer in circulation than fresh issues, so light toning is more common. It does not affect weight or fineness. Keep the coin dry and do not clean it with silver polish.

Frequently asked questions
Which design will I receive?
It depends on the year. The Perth Mint redesigns the reverse every year, so the design cannot be chosen with mixed years.
How much silver does the coin contain?
One troy ounce, i.e. 31.1035 g of silver at 999.9/1000 fineness.
Who guarantees the weight and fineness?
The State of Western Australia. The Perth Mint operates under the Gold Corporation Act 1987.
Why is this version cheaper?
Because the premium for the current year does not apply. The amount of silver is the same.
How is VAT charged on this coin?
Under the margin scheme in Article 120 of the Polish VAT Act. The tax is included in the price and not itemised on the invoice.
Does GoldInvest24 buy the coin back?
Yes. The buyback price depends on the current silver price and the condition of the coin.
