Nadir Metal Rafineri 20 g Silver Bar — twice the silver of 10 g in a single card

The Nadir Metal Rafineri 20 g silver bar holds 20 g of silver, or 0.6430 troy oz — about two thirds of a 1 oz coin. It comes from the Istanbul refinery accredited for LBMA Good Delivery silver since 2012 and is sealed in a card with the producer certificate.

Where 20 g sits in the Nadir range

The 20 g size falls between the 10 g and 50 g bars. Compared with two 10 g bars you get the same silver in one card and pay for one minting and one package instead of two. Compared with 50 g you keep the entry price low.

It works for putting silver aside in equal portions or as a gift with a noticeable amount of metal. The range follows the usual rule: the larger the bar, the lower the premium per gram.

Markings and card

The bar carries the round Nadir Metal Rafineri logo with the NMR monogram, the inscription 20g Fine Silver with the fineness and the NMR Melter Assayer mark. The reverse has a pattern of large letters from the refinery name. The card has a QR code, a barcode and a note that the certificate applies only to an unopened package.

The photos show the older 999 Fine Silver card with a 999.0 bar and the newer one marked Fineness 999.9. The supplier quotes 999.9; the version delivered depends on the batch.

Producer

The bar is made by Nadir Metal Rafineri, an Istanbul refinery that grew out of a precious metals recovery workshop founded in 1967. It gained LBMA Good Delivery accreditation for gold in 2011 and for silver in 2012.

What to consider

Compare the price with the metal value at the current silver price. Silver carries 23% VAT, and an opened card can make resale harder without the bar being checked.
