PAMP — the refinery that examines other refineries

PAMP was founded in 1977 at Castel San Pietro in the Swiss canton of Ticino, a few kilometres from the Italian border. The plant processes over 450 tonnes of gold a year and is listed with LBMA Good Delivery.

More telling is something else: PAMP sits on the seven-member LBMA Good Delivery referee panel. Refiners on that panel assess applicants to the list and assay sample bars from other works. It is a supervisory role held by only a handful of producers worldwide.

The CertiPAMP pack carries the bar's serial number, the signature of an independent Swiss federal assayer and a QR code for verification. The seal is single-use — opening it shows.

The phoenix — a symbol of renewal

The phoenix appears independently in several traditions. In the Greco-Egyptian account it is a bird that burns at the end of a long life and rises again from the ashes. In Chinese tradition the fenghuang stands for harmony and good fortune and, paired with the dragon, for balance.

What both versions share is renewal after loss — which is why the motif recurs on objects given to mark a new stage: a move, a change of job, the birth of a child.

In the Good Luck range PAMP gathers motifs of fortune from different cultures into one 5 g format. The bar is small enough to give and real enough to hold metal value.

Frequently asked questions

How much fine gold is in this bar?

A fineness of 999.9 means that of 1000 parts of the alloy, 999.9 are pure gold. The metal content is effectively the same as the total weight.

What does CertiPAMP packaging provide?

It carries the bar's serial number, the signature of an independent Swiss federal assayer and a QR code for verification. The seal is single-use, so opening it shows.

Should the blister be opened?

No. Outside its pack the bar loses the link to its certificate, and with a limited mintage intact packaging affects the buyback price.

Is VAT charged on gold bars?

In Poland gold meeting the conditions for bullion is exempt from VAT under Article 122 of the VAT Act.

Do you buy this product back?

We buy back gold and silver. The buyback price follows the current metal quote and the condition of the product together with its packaging.
