Nadir Metal Rafineri 1 oz Silver Bar — one troy ounce of silver in bar form
The Nadir Metal Rafineri 1 oz silver bar holds 31.1035 g of silver, exactly one troy ounce — the same as the best-known silver bullion coins. The Istanbul refinery behind it has been accredited for LBMA Good Delivery silver since 2012, and the bar is sealed in a card with the producer certificate.

A 1 oz bar or a 1 oz coin
The same amount of silver in a different form. Coins such as the Maple Leaf or the Vienna Philharmonic are legal tender with a face value and a design recognised by buyers everywhere. The bar has no face value — what counts is the weight and fineness stamped on the metal and the certificate card.
VAT treatment differs too: we sell the bar at 23% VAT, while Maple Leaf and Vienna Philharmonic coins from mixed years are sold under the VAT margin scheme (Article 120 of the Polish VAT Act). So the final price of a bar and a coin of the same weight can differ noticeably.
Markings, card and fineness
The obverse shows the round Nadir Metal Rafineri logo with the NMR monogram, the inscription 1 ounce Fine Silver with the fineness and the NMR Melter Assayer mark. On the reverse is a repeating pattern of large letters from the refinery name. A QR code and a barcode complete the card, and the producer states that the certificate holds only for an unopened package.
The supplier quotes 999.9. In both product photos, however, the bar and the card are marked 999.0. Read the actual fineness of your piece from the bar itself — the version delivered depends on the batch.
Producer
Nadir Metal Rafineri is an Istanbul refinery whose history begins with a metal recovery workshop in 1967. It holds LBMA Good Delivery accreditation for gold since 2011 and for silver since 2012.
What to consider
The metal value of a 1 oz bar is simply the silver price per ounce converted to zloty — see the silver price page. Add 23% VAT. When comparing with coins, allow for the different tax treatment.

FAQ
What is the fineness of the Nadir 1 oz silver bar?
The supplier quotes 999.9, but in the product photos the bar and card are marked 999.0. Read the fineness of your piece from the bar; the version depends on the batch.
How does a 1 oz bar differ from a 1 oz coin?
Both contain 31.1035 g of silver. The coin has a face value and a known design; the bar has no face value and its worth comes from weight and fineness.
Why can a bar and a coin of 1 oz cost differently?
Apart from the premium, the tax differs: the bar carries 23% VAT, while Maple Leaf and Philharmonic coins from mixed years are sold under the VAT margin scheme.
Can I open the card?
You can, but the producer states that the certificate applies only to an unopened package. An opened bar may need checking on resale.
