10 g Good Luck Phoenix Gold Bar | PAMP — colorized design, mintage 10,000
The PAMP 10 g Good Luck Phoenix gold bar contains 10 g of 999.9 fine gold. The obverse shows a phoenix with spread wings in vivid color on a mirror-like field; the reverse carries the classic PAMP hallmarks with an individual serial number. Worldwide mintage is limited to 10,000 bars.
This is the 10 g issue in the Good Luck series, in which PAMP brings together luck symbols from different cultures. The series also includes the 5 g Good Luck Phoenix gold bar and the 1 oz Good Luck Dragon gold bar — in Chinese tradition the dragon and the phoenix form a pair.

Why this bar
- 10 g of 999.9 fine gold from PAMP, listed in the LBMA Good Delivery system
- mintage of 10,000, serial number on the bar and the CertiPAMP card
- colorized obverse on a proof-like field
- cartouche with 福 (good fortune) and 鳳凰 (fenghuang, the Chinese phoenix)
- 26.5 × 15.8 mm bar in a card with gift sleeve
Obverse: the fenghuang and the characters 福 鳳凰
A phoenix with rainbow-colored wings fills the center of the obverse. Finely engraved cloud and wave lines cover the background and give depth to the mirror-like surface. In the upper right corner a cartouche holds two inscriptions: 福 (fu) — good fortune, blessing — and 鳳凰 (fenghuang).
The fenghuang is the Chinese phoenix, not the fire bird of Greek legend. Its name joins two characters: 鳳 (feng) once meant the male bird and 凰 (huang) the female, so the bird stands for harmony and marital accord. In imperial iconography the dragon represented the emperor and the fenghuang the empress, which is why the motif often appears on wedding and anniversary gifts.
Manufacture and security features
The bar is minted, not cast: the relief is struck under die pressure, which gives sharp detail and a mirror-like field. The colors are applied to the surface of the obverse and do not change the fine weight or purity.
- Serial number — struck on the reverse and repeated on the CertiPAMP card.
- CertiPAMP — sealed card with certificate of authenticity, serial number and assayer signature. Any opening is visible.
- Reverse — PAMP logo, SUISSE, 10 g, FINE GOLD, 999.9 and the Essayeur Fondeur stamp: the refiner itself melted and assayed the metal.
- Gift sleeve — red and gold, with twin phoenixes and cloud motifs.
PAMP has operated in Castel San Pietro, canton Ticino, since 1977. The refinery is listed in the LBMA Good Delivery system and is one of the LBMA referee refiners that test samples from other producers.
Comparison with other PAMP bars
What to consider
A colorized bar with a limited mintage carries a higher premium than a classic Fortuna bar of the same weight. On resale the price depends mainly on the gold price and the condition of the packaging — an extra amount for the design cannot be guaranteed.
The color layer is more sensitive to scratches than plain gold. The bar is best kept in its sealed CertiPAMP card.
VAT
Fine gold bars of 999.9 purity are exempt from VAT under Article 346 of Council Directive 2006/112/EC and, in Poland, Article 122 of the Polish VAT Act.

Frequently asked questions
How much gold does the 10 g Good Luck Phoenix bar contain?
10 g of 999.9 fine gold, which is 0.3215 troy ounces. The color on the obverse does not change the gold content.
What do the characters 福 and 鳳凰 mean?
福 (fu) means good fortune and blessing. 鳳凰 (fenghuang) is the Chinese phoenix, a symbol of harmony and traditionally the counterpart of the dragon.
What is the mintage?
The worldwide mintage is 10,000 bars. Each bar has an individual serial number on the reverse and on the CertiPAMP card.
Can I take the bar out of the CertiPAMP card?
You can, but we do not recommend it. The card protects the colorized surface, and an intact seal makes resale easier.
Is VAT charged on this bar?
No. Fine gold bars of 999.9 purity are VAT-exempt under Article 346 of Council Directive 2006/112/EC and Article 122 of the Polish VAT Act.
