Minted, not cast
A minted bar starts as a rolled and cut blank on which a press strikes the design on both sides. The result is flat, smooth faces and sharp edges, and the bar fits a sealed card. Cast bars — such as the Nadir 250 g, 500 g and 1 kg — are made by pouring metal into a mould and have a less regular surface.
At 100 g the premium per gram is already well below the 5-50 g sizes, while the bar still keeps packaging that protects its surface from scratches.
Markings and card
The obverse shows the round Nadir Metal Rafineri logo with the NMR monogram, the inscription 100g Fine Silver with the fineness and the NMR Melter Assayer mark; the reverse has a pattern of large letters from the refinery name. The card adds a QR code, a barcode and the producer's note that the certificate values are guaranteed only while the card is sealed.
Pictured are the earlier 999 Fine Silver card (bar marked 999.0) and the current card marked Fineness 999.9. The supplier gives 999.9, and the version in your parcel depends on the batch.
Producer
The bar is minted by Nadir Metal Rafineri in Istanbul. The company grew out of a metal recovery workshop founded in 1967 and is LBMA Good Delivery accredited for gold since 2011 and for silver since 2012.
What to consider
100 g is 3.2151 troy oz — work out the metal value from the current silver price. Add 23% VAT. If you want to split 100 g into smaller portions, the Valcambi CombiBar with segments is an alternative to a single bar.
Why GoldInvest24
In 100 g silver bars you can compare minted bars, CombiBars and the CombiCoin of the same weight.

FAQ
What is the difference between a minted and a cast bar?
A minted bar has its design struck by a press, flat faces and sharp edges. A cast bar is formed in a mould and has a less regular surface; at Nadir these are the bars from 250 g upwards.
What is the fineness of the Nadir 100 g silver bar?
The supplier and the newer card state 999.9. The older 999 Fine Silver card held a 999.0 bar. The version delivered depends on the batch.
A 100 g bar or a 10 x 10 g CombiBar?
The 100 g bar is a single piece, usually with a lower premium per gram. The Valcambi CombiBar has the same weight in ten separable segments that can be sold individually.
What VAT applies?
The 100 g bar carries 23% VAT, as do the CombiBars and the CombiCoin of the same weight. The exemption under Article 122 of the Polish VAT Act concerns gold only.
